September arrives on a whisper, not a bang.
Updated: Oct 8

The heat that ruled all summer finally begins to loosen its grip. Mornings carry the faintest edge of cool, evenings stretch a little softer, and the light turns from white-hot to something gold and forgiving. Autumn hasn't quite arrived in the Hill Country — but you can feel it thinking about it.
This is the season of the turn. The oaks hold their green a while longer, the roadsides trade summer's palette for goldenrod and Maximilian sunflowers, and overhead, the monarchs begin their long drift south. Everything, it seems, is quietly on the move.
Step inside to cool mornings and warmer fires. Pour a cup of something hot on the porch, pull your chair a little closer to the flames, and let the evening take its time.
The campfire is back, and so are the nights worth staying up for.
Mornings are for coffee and that first crisp air. Afternoons are for long walks, now that the sun has mellowed. Evenings bring the return of the fire, the smell of woodsmoke, and skies so clear the stars feel close enough to touch.
Summer had its rhythm, and it was a good one. But September moves to a gentler beat — unhurried, golden, and made for lingering.
At Flint & Flowers, we'll keep the fire lit and the coffee warm. Come feel the season turn.
