MELINDA KNOWLES
founder
Melinda Knowles has spent much of her life wandering. Living, studying, working, and traveling around the world has shaped her curiosity about people and places—and her sense of what makes somewhere feel like home.
The things she brings home aren’t always things. A meal shared across a crowded table. A garden discovered down a quiet lane. The sound of rain on a roof, or a welcome that makes you set your bags down and stay awhile. Those experiences have found their way into Flint & Flowers.
With a background in anthropology and business, Melinda loves learning what came before us, watching what grows, and imagining what a place might become. Here in the Texas Hill Country, that has meant comfortable beds beneath canvas, coffee carried outside, and little details gathered with care.
The campground was left as natural as possible. Live oaks and junipers offer their shade, wildflowers come and go with the seasons, and the sky has room to put on a show. Guests settle into the Hill Country’s own rhythms—the rustle of leaves, an evening breeze, the gradual arrival of stars.
Flint & Flowers is still growing—and with Melinda dreaming up what comes next, it probably always will be. But much of what she loves about it is already here, waiting for someone to pull up a chair and notice.
Bring your favorite person, your dog, a book you’ve been meaning to read—or simply yourself. There’s a place for you here.
