A Surprise Family Getaway – Four-Legged Friends Included
One of our favorite parts of Flint & Flowers is getting to be a small chapter in someone else's story. This month, that chapter belonged to a guest who surprised her family with a weekend in the Hill Country - no agenda, no rushing, just time together beneath the trees.
And, of course, the four-legged members of the family came along too, trading their usual backyard for wide-open trails and the novelty of a campfire to keep watch over. The weekend unfolded the way the best ones do: slowly. Mornings began with coffee and cool air and the particular stillness that settles over the property before the day warms up. There were walks to be taken and corners of the property to explore, shady spots claimed for afternoon rest, and evenings that asked for nothing more than good company and the sound of the wind moving through the oaks.
Even the dogs seemed to understand the assignment - somewhere between adventure and a very well-earned nap. It was the kind of getaway that doesn't need to be filled to feel full: a reminder that the simplest weekends, the ones spent together and unhurried, are often the ones we remember most.
